    • Votive Candles

Why Light a Votive Candle? A great tradition within the Catholic Church is to light votive candles as a prayer offering for a loved one, friend, or a partiuclar need. It's a way of sending our prayers to God, often through the intercession of the Saints

At SS. Philip and James we have votive candles in front of the Mary and Joseph altars. Feel free to light a candle anytime you are in the church. $5 per large candle and 50cents per small candle. Cash or check (made out to SS. Philip and James Church) offerings can be placed in the slot on the small candle stand or you can pay online through our Online Candle Giving Page. Your prayerful support of votive candles helps to offset our candle cost at the parish.
    • Parish Devotions

Parish devotions foster piety among the faithful and are an opportunity for our community to pray for one another and for the needs of the world. Please join in!

      • Miraculous Medal Novena: Tuesdays at 12:30pm after the noon Mass. A novena to honor the Blessed Virgin Mary and her protection in our lives.
      • St. Peregrine Novena: Wednesdays at 12:30pm after the noon Mass and Sunday at 11:30am after the 10:30am Mass. St. Peregrine is the patron of those who have cancer. We bring our prayers to him as a mighty intercessor for those who are sick, especially with cancer.
      • Rosary: Sunday at 10:00am before the 10:30am Mass.
      • Stations of the Cross: Join us Fridays at 7:00pm throughout Lent.
    • Dominican Devotions

The Dominican Order sponsors various devotions and confraternities within the Church serving to build of the Body of Christ.

      • The Rosary Confraternity: The Confraternity of the Most Holy Rosary is an international association of the faithful that exists to praise and honor the Blessed Virgin Mary and to secure her patronage by the recitation of the Rosary for the mutual spiritual benefit of all the members throughout the world. Each week, countless thousands of members pray the Holy Rosary and include each other’s intentions in their prayers.
      • The Angelic Warfare Confraternity: A supernatural fellowship of men and women bound to one another in love and dedicated to pursuing and promoting chastity together under the powerful patronage of St. Thomas Aquinas and the Blessed Virgin Mary.
